My wife and I had our first trip to Kerala in Jan 2011.
I decided to see the backwaters while travelling from Allepey to Kollam, rather than do the more normal round trip day on the lake.
What we saw was much more varied and we saved a day travelling by road.
Boat picked us up at our hotel = Kayaloram Resort - about 10 metres from the from door of our room. We travelled from 11am to 9.30 am the next day. Boat crew was excellent, Food was excellent and the peaceful scenery was great. So relaxing, it seemed more like a few days!

I found Southern Backwaters through there website while travelling through India, I got quick responses to my e-mails and booked a 2 night houseboat journey from Alleppey to Kollam. They picked me up at the train station as we arranged and brought me direct to the houseboat, before long we were cruising through the maze of waterways that traverse inland Kerala. Seeing the villages that rely on the Keralan rivers, canals and lakes was the highlight of the trip. There was an abundance of animal life throught the journey including birds, repiles and fish. Upon finishing the cruise I was taken to the trainstation. The whole trip from booking to finishing was easy and worth every rupee.

It was a amazing experience of kerala package with Munnar Holidays. I found them very decent and genuine people. They provide an excellent service as per the budget and they are bond with the commitments. The cost for the Hotels, sight seeings, the food etc. all are the same without any changes discussed before departuring Munnar.

We used Munnar Holidays to plan our trip to Kerala. As we only had 5 days it was great that they did everything prior to arrival as it saved time making bookings, finding hotels etc. We had 5 days and saw Munnar, Thekkady, Alleppey and Cochin. Munnar hotel was fantastic and walking distance to town, the rest of the trip was great and we always had good accomodation as we booked the standard tour. I think if we had paid a bit more we may of got a better guide but he was nice and tried his best. I would recommend Munnar holidays as it is good value and an easy way of seeing Kerala.
